Pilot program

Most customers run a single-line pilot for 30 to 90 days before expanding to Production tier. Angel-backed and operationally stable from day one.

Founded 2023, Pittsburgh PA. Angel funded.

All pilot program metrics (scrap rate, time-to-alert) represent results from early-access participants. Individual results vary by process type and instrumentation baseline.

FAQ

Common questions

In most configurations, no new hardware is required. Shelfmark reads from existing line instrumentation through OPC-UA, MQTT, or historian adapters. If your line does not have optical or thermal sensors, we can advise on minimal sensor additions during the pre-pilot assessment call.
Most pilot programs go live within 30 days of signing. The first week covers OPC-UA or historian connection and stream verification. Weeks two through three cover baseline data collection. Week four covers model calibration and alert threshold configuration. Some customers with straightforward instrumentation are live in 10 to 14 days.
Monthly review calls cover alert history from the prior period, false positive and false negative review, threshold adjustment recommendations, and any process changes you've made that may need model re-calibration. Calls are typically 45 to 60 minutes with a Shelfmark engineer who knows your specific line configuration.
Yes. Pilot is month-to-month, so you can move to Production tier at the start of any billing month. The onboarding engineer will migrate your baseline models and alert configurations to the additional lines. There is no data loss or restart of the calibration period for your original line.
Alerts are delivered via email and SMS on all tiers. Production and Enterprise tiers also support Slack, webhook, and PLC interlock (digital output to halt or slow the line). Alert payloads include the timestamp, the channel that triggered, the defect score, and the attributed source variable so your operators have context at the moment they receive the notification.
On Pilot and Production tiers, data is processed and stored in Shelfmark's US-hosted cloud infrastructure, encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). On Enterprise tier, on-premises deployment options are available where all data stays within your plant network and never traverses the public internet.
