Production Intelligence
Catch defect patterns before the batch becomes scrap
Shelfmark monitors continuous manufacturing lines in real time, correlating sensor streams across optical, thermal, and dimensional channels to surface defect signatures the moment they begin forming.
How it works
From raw sensor stream to actionable alert in three steps
Shelfmark layers detection logic on top of your existing line instrumentation. No new hardware required in most configurations.
Shelfmark connects to OPC-UA, MQTT, and industrial historians. Optical, thermal, and dimensional streams are time-aligned to a shared process clock before any model sees them.
Fused sensor vectors are scored against process-specific defect signatures. When a deviation crosses a learned threshold, Shelfmark traces the pattern back to the probable source variable.
Alerts route to your control room interface, email, SMS, or PLC interlock. Every event is logged with a timestamped sensor trace so root cause review takes minutes, not shifts.
Process verticals
Built for continuous-flow manufacturing
Shelfmark is purpose-built for processes where the material never stops moving. Batch inspection logic does not translate here.
Surface and dimensional faults upstream of the spooler
Wire drawing defects almost always start upstream from where they are found. Shelfmark traces anomaly signatures back to the drawing die or lubricant feed stage before the spool is committed.
Learn moreTemperature, pressure, and dimensional drift detection
Extrusion surface defects correlate strongly with upstream thermal and pressure variables. Shelfmark watches all three simultaneously and flags the process variable that caused the defect, not just the defect itself.
Learn moreSolidification anomalies and surface crack precursors
In continuous casting, the moment a crack precursor becomes visible is well past the intervention window. Shelfmark reads thermal signatures in the mold region to flag solidification anomalies before surface cracks form.
Learn moreCoat weight variation and streak detection
Coat weight variation and streak defects in web processes are difficult to catch with end-of-line sampling. Shelfmark monitors coating weight continuously across the web width and flags streaks as they form.
Learn moreWhat we hear
From quality engineers and plant managers
The thing I kept waiting for was a false alarm storm that would make the line crew ignore it. Three months in we have had two false positives. The team treats every alert as real now.
Quality Engineering Lead, Farlow Wire and Cable, from our early-access pilot program
We were logging defects but couldn't trace them back to the process variable that caused them quickly enough to make a correction before the run was over. That's what changed.
Process Engineer, Redstone Extrusion, early-access pilot participant
Setup was faster than expected. The OPC-UA connection to our historian was up in a day. Model calibration took about a week of production data. We were live before the end of the month.
